Somatic Psychedelic Therapy

OmTerra offers compassionate, empathetic, and dedicated support for those seeking long-term recovery from trauma, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression. We utilize a distinctive form of psychedelic somatic therapy. Prioritizing the biological facets of trauma, we delve into its psychological dimensions. This approach incorporates Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Psychotherapy (PSIP) and "parts work" inspired by the Internal Family Systems therapy model. Our unique methodology capitalizes on the natural healing capabilities of the autonomic nervous system, integrating legally available psychedelic medicines—provided by the patient—to enable trauma processing and release.

At OmTerra, our holistic approach emphasizes the intricate link between the body, mind, and spirit. We understand that the body often harbors trauma, anxiety, and depression, making it a vital starting point in the healing journey. When addressing trauma or PTSD, it's crucial to begin with the body before progressing to deeper, transpersonal, or transcendent facets.

Working in tandem with the mind, we aid individuals in unraveling entrenched thought patterns—developed as defenses against trauma. And when one is ready, we facilitate profound spiritual experiences, fostering further personal growth and introspection.

OmTerra champions a holistic method, harmonizing body, mind, and spirit to guide individuals along their path to healing. Combining our unique psychedelic somatic therapy, parts work, and a profound appreciation for each individual's journey, we aim to offer a sanctuary for profound healing and transformation.

Psilocybin Facilitated Sessions

Psilocybin facilitation offers a groundbreaking approach to mental and emotional well-being, harnessing the therapeutic potential of a psychedelic experience. One notable feature of psilocybin therapy is its ability to catalyze profound introspection and heightened self-awareness. Under the influence of psilocybin, individuals often experience a shift in consciousness that allows them to explore and process deep-seated emotions and thoughts. This unique feature opens up a therapeutic space for individuals to confront and release unresolved issues, providing a pathway to healing that extends beyond traditional talk therapies.

A key benefit of psilocybin therapy is its potential to induce mystical or transcendent experiences. These experiences can lead to a profound sense of interconnectedness and spiritual insight. Research suggests that such experiences may contribute to long-term positive changes in personality, outlook on life, and a reduction in symptoms associated with anxiety and depression. This transformative aspect of psilocybin facilitation sets it apart as a modality that not only addresses symptoms but also fosters a more holistic and enduring sense of well-being.

Furthermore, psilocybin facilitation emphasizes a patient-centered and integrative approach. Sessions are conducted in a supportive and carefully curated environment, guided by a trained facilitator. The integration phase, where individuals reflect on and incorporate insights gained during the psychedelic experience into their daily lives, is a crucial component. This personalized and holistic approach ensures that the benefits of psilocybin facilitation extend beyond the session itself, empowering individuals to actively participate in their healing journey and cultivate enduring positive changes.

About

About

Steve Elfrink

Steve, OmTerra Founder and Psychedelic Somatic Interactional Therapist, was also the Co-Founder of the Psychedelic Somatic Institute (PSI), a psychedelic somatic therapist training organization and OmTerra, a PSIP/IFS focused therapy organization. He was a participant in the 2015, Phase 1 FDA Pharmacokinetic Study of Psilocybin at UW-Madison that also studied the effects of high-dose psilocybin for adverse reactions. Steven had a first-hand experience of the benefits and shortcomings of the current non-directive model used in psychedelic therapy worldwide. This led him to creating OmTerra and co-creating PSI to expand the potential of psychedelic medicines utilizing a somatic focus. Steve has been a pioneer in bringing more awareness to the world of the powerful transformative effects of psychedelics and the more harrowing and less discussed challenges that come with psychedelic therapy. Steve is also someone who has his own history of early childhood trauma and working through it utilizing psychedelic medicines.
